Inter Milan vice-president Javier Zanetti confirms interest in Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal. “He’s a player who could certainly step us up a level.”
The negotiations are continuing for a loan with option to buy, as the Chile international is eager for a reunion with his former Juventus coach Antonio Conte.
“We’ll see how the transfer window goes, as we have a month to get things done,” Zanetti told ESPN in Argentina.
“Vidal is a player with great character and experience, so we’ll see what happens. We are talking about a player who can certainly step us up a level, and we are already at a good level.”
Former England boss Fabio Capello thinks that “it’s a three-horse race for the Scudetto” between Juventus, Inter and Lazio, but Arturo Vidal could tip the balance.
“That would be a great coup, as it’s rare to get quality players in January. Vidal has experience, an eye for goal and Conte already knows him very well.
“With Vidal, Inter can genuinely target the Scudetto, even though it’d still only make the odds 50-50.”
