Perisic Suspension Is Halved But Not Icardi’s

Some good news, bad news, for Inter on Friday as the Italian FA announced that Ivan Perisic’s two match suspension had bene reduced to one game after appeal, but captain Mauro Icardi lost his appeal and will now miss the next two league matches.

The Italian FA statement:

Mauro Icardi’s 2-match ban as well as the €10.000 fine has been confirmed, whilst Inter’s appeal has been partially upheld regarding Ivan Perisic, whose ban has been reduced to a 1 match whilst the second match ban has been commuted to a €10.000 fine.”

Perisic was sent off on the day for insulting the referee, while Icardi was later penalised for a similar infraction after the final whistle, including video evidence showing he kicked the ball just past the official’s head.
