Inter have officially confirmed what I wrote yesterday, that the 32-year-old Spanish midfielder Borja Valero has joined the club on a three year deal
“I’m really satisfied, it’s a great professional challenge to come to Inter,” he told Inter Channel.
“It’s what I’ve done in recent years, playing more or less everywhere in midfield, especially when some of my teammates were missing.
“I’ll try to do my best and show what I can do. I salute the Inter fans and hope we can do great things together.”
Valero, who trained with his new teammates for the first time on Tuesday could possible fit into the role left by the departure of Ever Banega.
Valero has produced the third most assists in the Serie A – 38 in 166 matches.
At the age of 32, Valero’s vast experience will be a useful asset for Inter next season, while he is superb at retaining possession, as demonstrated by the fact that he had an average pass accuracy of 89% in Serie A last season.
In addition Valero is a key creative threat and he laid on 61 chances in Serie A last campaign, the highest return in the Fiorentina squad.
